Tahiti is opening to American travelers on May 1st!

New Requirements*:

For vaccinated travelers:

• Must be fully vaccinated having your last shot at least 8 days prior to arrival and show your vaccination card with the dates and type of your shots listed from ages 16+

• A negative RT-PCR Test 3 days before departure to the islands (yes even if vaccinated and applies to children under 16 years of age)

• Complete their Etis online platform questionnaire (available from April 24, 2021)

• An antigen test will be given on arrival at Tahiti-Faa’a airport

• No quarantine needed as long as negative on all tests

• A self-test on day 4

For travelers who have already contracted COVID:

• A negative RT-PCR Test 3 days before departure to the islands

• A serological test of less than a month proving the presence of antibodies

• A declaration of itinerary and contacts on the Etis platform

• An antigen test on arrival at Tahiti-Faa’a airport

• No quarantine

• A self-test on day 4

For unvaccinated and not yet infected travelers:

• A negative RT-PCR Test 3 days before departure to the islands

• A declaration of itinerary and contacts on the Etis platform

• An antigen test on arrival at Tahiti-Faa’a airport

• A quarantine of 10 days (from 6-16 years, if negative free circulation is allowed. If positive isolation in quarantine in Tahiti for 10 days at traveler’s expense)

• Two self-tests on days 4 and 8

Returning to the USA a negative Covid-19 Antigen test result is required. The Covid-19 Testing Center will be available at Tahiti Papeete Faa'a Airport. Hours are Tuesday-Thursday from 12:00pm to 4:00pm and Saturday from 11:00am to 4:00pm. Please arrive no later than 2:30pm to allow for processing time. Results will be available approximately 1 hours after collection for the antigenic test. The traveler will be provided with an ID and access code to download their results from the institute website or they may request a printout from the results desk at the Covid Center at the airport. The cost for an antigenic test is 5,700xpf per person.
